Last year when my wife, Brandy, and I were married in Laytonsville, Maryland we wanted to be able to remember our wedding in a unique way. We had 2 photographers and a videographer, but many couples have that. Naturally given that I am a professional aerial photographer it was only a matter of time before we settled on getting photographs of our wedding from the air.

As it happened a friend of mine, Victor Ramaeu, who had done photography for me in the past was available on our wedding date. So I was able to send him aloft with my camera gear to photograph our big event. We did not want a distraction during the ceremony, so we opted to give him a call at the start of our ceremony that we wanted him overhead at its conclusion (30 minutes from then). Sure enough, right on time, Victor appeared in an airplane overhead being piloted by another friend of mine, Patrick Mugambwa, Chief Pilot at Montgomery Aviation.

As you can see from the gallery below the photos came out very well:

We also put together a video slide show of the aerial photos that you can view here:

I did a brief assessment of all the residential real estate that I photographed from the air throughout Maryland and Virginia last year and discovered that those using aerial photography by MetroAir Photo had a ratified contract 6 days sooner than the average of comparably priced listings in MRIS.

This makes sense as aerial photography helps buyers make more informed decisions about the property by seeing it all at once. Aerial photos show all the unique features of a property that can range from improvements like landscaping, decks, pools, and tennis courts to the amount of acreage or privacy afforded by a location. So much can be conveyed about a home and land photographed from the air.
